The 2017 IP Statistics for Decision Makers (IPSDM) conference aims to discuss how intellectual property (IP) data, statistics, and analysis are used and can be used to inform decision makers in both the public and private sectors, and to identify key information needs and possible shortcomings.
It seeks to achieve this through informing and shaping a wide range of policy and business-relevant issues, using evidence-based IP statistics and analysis.

The conference is organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), in cooperation with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).
